Dan Kennedy’s “gift” changed my mindest.

Several years ago, I joined the Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle. I was woefully nieve about business. The free trial they offered was hard to pass up.

I got two months worth of newsletters free (hot damn, I thought). I also got an email telling me for best results, I needed to watch 3 videos. Well I watched them. I read the newsletters. And then it happened, after watching the third video, I got an email that said I was getting a free gift. Hmm, hot damn I thought AGAIN.

Little did I know that the free gift would change my world view. The gift was a set of six CDs recorded at a seminar about wealth building. It also contained an interview with Robert Ringer and one with Corey Rudhl. This set of CDs is now one of the most important items I own.

The CD begins:

A client recently said to me ”the next time I am in Arizona, I want to see your wheelbarrow”. I was confused and asked for clarification. He went on to say “I want to see the wheelbarrow you carry your brass balls around with”.

Dan explained the client had just agreed to pay a huge some (over 30grand) to obtain Dan’s services. This made the client feel Dan had brass balls to be able to ask this much with a straight face.

Everytime Dan Kennedy speaks of the brass ball factor, it reminds me that I do not have to offer the lowest price to win a sale. It also reminds me, at some point I must show I have brass balls by stepping into the arena with the goal of winning. I do not want to be remembered as an “also ran”.

I have decided to ask my fantastically successful acquaintances to tell me about their brass ball moment. I want to compile a list of inspirational tales where they used their own figurative brass balls to get what they wanted.

I need this information more than anyone I have ever met. Today I am an “also ran”. I have spent the last 22 years as an employee. I have often been treated as a fast track over achiever, but always in the context of what is good for the company.

So if you have a brass balls story, send it to me. Better yet, tell it to everyone as a comment. Do it now. I would like to take the better ones and use to create a brief presentation to help others find the ”balls” to make it on their own…
